Two suspects are on the loose after a stabbing in Portage la Prairie on Wednesday.

On July 3, at roughly 1:20 a.m., the RCMP responded to a stabbing on 2nd Street NE.

Officers immediately attended and located a 37-year-old man with serious injuries. Police administered first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported him to the hospital, where he remains.

It was reported the man was on a bicycle when two individuals approached him, stabbed him, and stole his mountain bike.

The suspects are described as wearing dark clothing and being in their late teens or early 20s.

Authorities note that numerous patrols were made in and around the area, but the suspects were not located. His bicycle, however, was located abandoned a short distance away.
