Another vehicle stolen and another pursuit for the Portage RCMP.
The detachment was notified a vehicle was stolen around 10:30 p.m. last night. Members attended the area and located the vehicle, however the driver refused to stop, driving through intersections without stopping and at one point through a chain fence at Centennial arena. The vehicle was followed from the North end of the city to the west through Dakota Tipi First Nation and ended near highway 305 after a spike belt was used. All three occupants fled and two were caught, the third was later apprehended by the police service dog. A 20 year old male from Winnipeg and a 23 year old male from Portage were arrested and held at the Portage detachment. They'll appear in court this morning facing charges of theft under $5,000, flight from police, impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and breach of probation. A 27 year old female from Portage was issued with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
