Plumas beat Neepawa 10-4 in the Santa Clara Baseball league last night. The Portage Padres games was postponed because of wet field conditions in Austin. The Padres next play in Plumas on Tuesday.

Carman girls finished third and Carman boys finished in fourth place at the Provincial High School Golf Championships Friday in Morden. Keira Krahn (94), India Young (96) and Shaela Hayward (127) recorded a 317 aggregate total and were 17 shots back of Addison Kartusch, Elle Wood, Emma Keryluk and Juliana Cercueti of St. Mary’s Academy. Ryan Orchard (76), Ben Chornomydz (87), Carson Park (93) and Reid North of Carman (103) finished 33 shots back of Jack Taylor, Grady Chuback, Ayden Hanson and Tyler Polanski of St. Paul’s. Grade 9 student Alexis Penner of MacGregor Collegiate also took part in the event.

The Manitoba Match Play Qualifiers take place today at the Carman golf club. The Provincial Men’s, Senior Men’s and Women’s Match Play Championships will be held June 2nd-5th at the Quarry Oaks golf course near Steinbach.

Logan Calder and theThe Dauphin Kings will meet the Pickering Panthers and the Brooks Bandits will take on College Francais de Longueuil in the semifinals at the Centennial Cup in Estevan. Pickering edged Flin Flon 3-2 in double overtime and Longueuil slipped past the Western Summerside Capitals 4-3 in the quarterfinals.

The Winnipeg Ice saw their season come to an end Friday night in Edmonton. The Oil Kings scored four first period goals and beat the Ice 7-1. Edmonton took the Western Hockey League’s best-of-seven Eastern Conference final four games to one. Connor McClennon had the lone goal for Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers lost 30-20 to the Edmonton Elks at IG Field. Quarterbacks Dru Brown and Dakota Prukop had rushing touchdowns for the Bombers while Dalton Schoen had a two yard td catch. The Blue Bombers, who play their final pre-season game Tuesday in Regina against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, have to cut down their roster to 75 players today.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes gave up three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and lost 4-3 to the Lincoln Saltdogs. Max Murphy had a two-run single in the bottom of the first for the Fish.
