Voters in the RM of Dufferin won't need to vote for a new Reeve in the October 25th civic vote. Incumbent Reeve Doug Sisson has pulled out of the race.
That means challenger Shawn McCutcheon becomes the new Reeve by acclamation.
Sisson says he has enjoyed his 20 years on council, but the demands on his time as Reeve were becoming to great.
He says it was taking a toll on his farm operation.
Sisson says he was concerned no one would let their name stand for Reeve so he filed papers.
He says however, Shawn McCutcheon is a credible candidate, and that allowed him to bow out.
