Team Toba captured silver and bronze medals Tuesday at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island.

Cheryl Cheung of Winnipeg won silver in the épée individual event in fencing at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown and Jesse Bachinsky of Kenora earned bronze in the Para Nordic standing -  2.5 km classic race.

Manitoba's medal count is eight with three gold, four silver and one bronze.

Team Manitoba is 0-2 in female hockey after losing 3-0 to Alberta. Our province will play its final round robin game today against Nova Scotia. 

Team Toba's Mixed Doubles Curling team of Mackenzie Arbuckle & Aaron Macdonell defeated Nova Scotia 10-2 and lost 8-6 to Prince Edward Island. Arbuckle & Macdonell will face Ontario today.

Manitoba's Male Curling team of Jace Freeman, Elias Huminicki, Rylan Graham & Jack Steski will play their first of four round robin games today against Quebec.

Imogen Nadlersmith of Boissevain finished 17th; Mia Sawatzky of Altona was 25th; Kate Sawatzky of Altona was 33rd & Naomi Wiens of Morden was 43rd in the cross country skiiing female 7.5km classic event.

William Vanden Berg of Winkler finished 16th; Hezekiah Hoeppner of Thornhill was 31st; William Wintoniw of Winnipeg was 32nd; Gideon Hoeppner of Stanley was 40th; Ben Wiens of Morden was 50th & Isaiah Vanden Berg of Stanley was 53rd in the cross country skiiing male 10km classic event.
