One of the largest and most successful events in Portage's history has come to an end.

The Canada Senior Games finished with a big celebration, and closing ceremonies Saturday night. Colin Wilcox played on the Team Manitoba ice hockey squad as well as being chair of the tournament.

He notes every volunteer should be proud of what they accomplished.

Wilcox adds the over 70 and over 80 year olds competing should inspire young people to get involved.

He explains other then the Portage Hotel fire the games ran smooth as silk.
