The Portage Collegiate Saints hockey team has fallen to 1-8-1 so far this season.

PCI dropped a 4-0 decision to the CPET Canadiennes tonight on home ice. Forward Alexis Waldner says the main difference was CPET capitalized on their scoring chances, and the Saints could not. She notes while their record might not be the prettiest, they've continued to improve all season.

"When we started, we weren't playing good together, and there's been a big difference in how our team communicates and how we play together," Waldner explains. "our plays are coming together, and our breakouts are good. We're actually working together to get shots on net, and we've had a lot of opportunities."

She adds the team has come a long way and says it's great to feel supported on the ice.

Waldner has played both forward and defence this season and has one assist so far this year. She outlines what their main objective is going forward.

"I think we just really need to focus on getting the shots in the net," Waldner continues. "The wins will come as soon as that happens. So, I think, as a team, our goal is just to keep pushing them into the net."

The Saints will be on the road for four of their next five contests, with their next game going down on Thursday against the Dakota Lancers.
