If you're on the road today use extreme caution.  The snowfall has left area roads slippery and snow packed.  Portage RCMP Constable Dave Spakowski says there weren't any accidents this morning and he's hoping motorists continue to drive to the conditions.
He warns motorists city streets have slippery sections and the highways are snow covered with reduced visibility due to blowing snow.  Meanwhile City of Portage Public Works Manager Brian Taylor says crews are ready to clear the streets, however they're waiting to see how much snow will fall before work begins.
Taylor points out the City's sand truck is out constantly in this weather in an attempt to reduce the number of slick areas.  In these conditions he reminds you to park in your driveway rather than the street so crews can be more efficient.
