The Reeve of the RM of Westbourne is looking to step into the provincial arena.

Ed Stroeder's seeking the Conservative nomination in the Ste. Rose constituency, to replace the retiring Glen Cummings.

He notes this was the latest of several decisions he's made about his future. Stroeder knew last December he wouldn't run again for reeve. However, it wasn't until Cummings made his announcement that he considered making the jump to provincial politics.

Stroeder's confident his eight years' in the reeve's chair will help him move into the provincial arena. He's dealt with health care, flooding, drainage, and ag problems. Stroeder admits he's inexperienced at the provincial level, but points out the same was true when he was elected as reeve.
Neepawa's Ken Waddell announced he's in the running last week.
