Portage la Prairie RCMP has suspended a driver from Long Plain First Nation following a breath test.

Police say on May 14, around 1:45 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop when they noticed a driver that appeared to be under the influence.

When they asked the 23-year-old woman to provide a breath sample, the result came back as a warning. A warning would normally result in a 72-hour suspension, however, if someone 16 or younger is also in the car, the suspension is increased to seven days.

The driver's license was suspended for seven days and her car was impounded for three days.
