The RCMP are at Portage Collegiate over the lunch hour.

It's a one-day recruiting drive organized by Constable Alison Kestirke, who's completing her field training at the Portage detachment.

She notes a project like this is one of her requirements, and thinks it's a good opportunity to bring the message to the school.

Kestirke adds recruits are needed because of expanding membership needs as well as retirements.

About 2000 are expected to go through training at Regina. She's using a power point presentation to outline basic requirements and dispel myths about the force.
