A fundraiser to raise money for Jump Rope for Heart took place at La Verendrye School this week.

The initiative is touted as a family-friendly way to get kids active, practice healthy habits, and teach the importance of giving back. During COVID-19, efforts to fundraise by actually going door-to-door ceased and it has become more streamlined through social media and family members of the students getting on board to give.

Educational assistant Brittany Boschman says they create fundraiser goal and it was reached.

"Fundraising leaders got the opportunity to pie LVS staff. So, it was Miss Bryan. Miss Laidlaw, Mr. Patterson, and Mr. Nelson."

Fort la Reine School was in on the action, as well.
