The Rotary Club of Portage la Prairie will see different members taking the reins this year.
Public Relations Director Preston Meier says while the official switch won’t take place until July 1st, they’ve already started getting ready for what will happen when Sherrie Palmer becomes the club’s newest president in the summer.
“There are a few roles that are carried over,” explains Meier when asked if every role will change. “Half of our executive runs on two-year terms, with the other half on alternate two-year terms.”
He notes that his position as Public Relations Director will be one of the roles to change over this year.
Meier adds that, while they look inward for any executive roles, they’re always looking for more members to join, and you can do so at any point in the year.
“We certainly encourage anybody that wants to come check out a meeting or the club,” says Meier. “We would love to invite you to have that opportunity. You can't go anywhere in this community without running into something Rotary’s done in the last 65 years.”
