September 9th was a busy day and night for Portage la Prairie RCMP officers.

Police received word early in the morning that overnight, a shop and office building in the Rural Municipality of North Norfolk was broken into. There was a lot of damage reported to the building. After this crime was committed, a pick-up truck was stolen from the scene. It was located in the 200 block of Little Ridge Road North in Sandy Bay First Nation.

Later that day, officers received word of another break-in, this time, in the 2300 block of Saskatchewan Avenue West. A window was broken, and the suspects were able to enter the building and take some electronics. Police are asking if you have any information on either of these crimes, to contact them.

And finally, just after 10 p.m., police were called to the 2300 block of Sissons Drive, as a person was threatening to shoot people at a building in the area. Officers arrested the 30-year-old suspect with no fixed address without incident a short distance away. The suspect appeared in court on the 10th facing charges of Using Imitation of a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence and two counts of Uttering Threats against a Person.
