A Portage la Prairie man has been charged after being found with a weapon, drugs, and stolen property.

Portage RCMP were called on August 26th about suspicious activity in the 300 block of Saskatchewan Avenue East. Officers patrolled and talked to 56-year-old Marcel Paul who was told he was under arrest. He failed to comply and police were forced to handcuff him.

He is facing charges of:

  • Possession of Weapon Dangerous to Public
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Opioid
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Resist Arrest.

Paul had a court appearance on the 28th.
