The Portage Islanders continue to be the class of the S.E.M.H.L. league this season. With two more wins over the weekend, the team remains undefeated on the season with an 11-0 record.

Saturday, it was off to Carman where the club skated away with a 6-1 victory. Tanner Lesann led the way with a goal and three assists including the game-winner on the power play in the first period. Lesann is second in the team scoring with 19 points in 9 games. Captain Jens Meilleur also chipped in with a goal and two assists in the match.

It was an afternoon game on Sunday and it was a battle for top spot in the league on the road against St. Anne. The Aces lineup has several familiar faces with former Terrier All-stars like Brendan Walker, Tanner Harms, and Yvan Pattyn. The Islanders had only 13 players in the lineup but that was enough to pull out a 4-2 win. This time the team fell behind 1-0 in the opening frame and it stayed that way until Lesann opened the scoring for the Islanders just over 4 minutes into the third frame. Robbie Moar would score a minute later on the power play and the team never looked back from that point. Netminder Steve Christie not only turned aside 40 of the 42 shots he faced for his second win of the weekend, he also picked up an assist on the games opening goal.

There are seven games left in the regular season and the Islanders will try to keep their undefeated streak alive Wednesday night when they travel to Winkler. Their next home game is Sunday against the same team.
