The Portage Clinic is advising citizens that they may have to wait in their vehicles due to a lack of space in the waiting rooms at specific times.

Dr. Sunit Nagra, one of the family doctors at the Portage Clinic, says that with an increased number of in-person appointments coming up in the weeks ahead, the clinic is trying to get the word out to the community.

"If we have too many patients who can't be accommodated straight into the physician's exam room and our waiting room is too full, we would like you to still adhere to social distancing to protect our patients who are immunocompromised," continues the Doctor. "For that purpose, you may be asked to wait in the car until there's more space in the waiting room or the exam room is available so that we can take you directly in to see your physician."

Nagra shares that you will only have to wait in your car if all other options and seats are exhausted.

She adds that she appreciates and thanks everyone for their patience.

"It's been a rough few years for everyone, but we appreciate everyone's tolerance and being able to accommodate. I know everyone needs to be seen or see their physician, and we will try our best to get you in in a timely manner."

The Portage Clinic is open Monday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m..
