Police are investigating a pair of break and enters targeting businesses that occurred on the same morning earlier this month.

According to police, on Feb. 3, just prior to 1 a.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP received a call that a business in the 200 block of Saskatchewan Avenue East was being broken into. When officers arrived, there were indications that someone tried to pry open a door to the business. Police say the alarm was activated and the intruder did not gain entry into the building and left the area. Later that same morning, the RCMP attended to a break and enter at a business in the 1100 block of Saskatchewan Avenue West. Police say in this instance, the suspect was able to gain entry and cause damage to items in the business.

Police continue to investigate and encourage anyone with information to call the Portage la Prairie RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
