Another year is in the books for the Pink Ladies Snow Ride For A Cure in Portage la Prairie.

It took place over the weekend, and committee member Tammy Hammersley says it was a fabulous day for the event.

"The snow was pretty sketchy. We could have used a little bit more, but it was fantastic," says Hammersley, "Club Snow did a fantastic job for us once again with working with a little snow and finding us a trail to St. Claude and back that was safe for us to ride."

She explains the members are all excited about this seventh ride which takes place every two years and hope to raise much more money for the Foundation.

"Last ride, we actually bought a gamma probe," Hammersley continues. "It's used for breast cancer surgeries. So, Dr. Nostedt is able to do the surgeries right here in Portage Hospital. This year, we are actually just pooling our money into getting something much bigger, because we don't think the amount that we'll raise tonight will be whatever they need for another big project."

Hammersley adds the support they get from the communities around the area is phenomenal, and the club members are never disappointed. She says their sponsors are great, as well as their ladies and family members.
