The Portage Padres are just one point away from becoming Santa Clara Baseball League Champions. Portage dominated in Game 3, taking down the Plumas Pirates 11-3.

Short Stop Ryan Botterill says it feels great to be in control of the series and notes he's confident they'll be able to finish it off on Thursday. He describes their mentality heading into Game 4 in Plumas.

"We just have to play as well as we can," Botterill explains. "We know we have a good team, and we have a good chance of winning it."

Joey Moffatt picked up the win on the mound for Portage, only giving up two runs, both coming in the first inning. The Padres went the next six innings allowing just a single run.

"Our defence was good today. When our team sticks together, and we play our game, it's always good."

With only one loss in the books all postseason, Botterill outlines what has been the biggest factor in the recent success.

"The whole team has been lifting each other up, and our bats have been really good lately," Botterill continues. "That's what I think has been huge but our pitching has been good too."

Game 4 takes place Thursday in Plumas. A win or a tie would make Portage the champions, and Plumas would need three straight wins to complete the comeback in the series. First pitch for Game 4 is set for 6:30.
