Joey Moffatt had thirteen strikeouts on the night, as the Portage Padres tied the Carberry Royals 2-2 in the Santa Clara Baseball League.

It was an explosive start to the game as the Royals scored twice in the top of the first inning. The Padres responded with one that inning.

The Padres would tie it in the fourth, and it looked like the Royals were going to take the lead in the fifth with the bases loaded. However, Moffatt was able to avoid giving up any runs.

With the tie, the Padres sit with a record of 1-0-1 while the Royals are at the top of the standings with a record of 3-0-1.

In the other game, the Neepawa Cubs doubled up the Ebb and Flow Lightning 8-4.

On tomorrow's schedule, the Padres are in Neepawa, the Royals head to Austin to battle the Aces, and the Plumas Pirates are in Ebb and Flow.
