The nominees are in! The Portage la Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce's 2022 Business Awards are being presented on November 24th.

Executive Director Cindy McDonald says it's a great slate of businesses and she's excited to share their names.

The 2022 Outstanding Business of the Year nominees are:

  • Pharmasave Portage, 
  • Mil Jeanne Flowers and Axcenz, 
  • Watson's Roofing and Siding, 
  • The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy 
  • and Principle Supply.

Outstanding entrepreneur of the year:

  • Kara Pawloski from Just Be Wellness Studio 
  • Kelsey Filion Drozduk of McDonald's Portage
  • Kellie Verwey and Travis Lundy from Roast and Toasts

Outstanding Not-For-Profit:

  • Portage Junkyard Dogs
  • Portage Terriers 

Outstanding Contribution to the Community by a Business:

  • Spruce Drive Farms
  • The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy

"The winners will be announced live at our Business Awards gala on Thursday, November 24th, at the William Glesby Centre," says McDonald. "Tickets are $75 each if you want to attend and see who's going to win these awards. It only happens once a year and we're really excited to celebrate these amazing outstanding businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofits."

She notes last November's Awards night was in person without restrictions, noting the event was late enough to allow for it.
