The Business Awards are back and the Portage and District Chamber of Commerce wants to know who you think is deserving of this year's honours.

Executive director Cindy McDonald says from now until October 7th, you can submit the names of any businesses that you think went above and beyond. She notes that the nominees will get the chance to attend the gala on November 24th.

"These awards are really important to us as an organization because we love to celebrate our business community," explains McDonald. "This is such a great opportunity for all of our members and the business community as a whole to get to gather and really celebrate and say thank you for everything they do."

She adds they were luckily able to return to in-person events last year, so they shouldn't need to worry about any restrictions for this year's gala either. She mentions she can't wait to see the community show love to the businesses that work so hard for them.

"These businesses go above and beyond and they never ask for thanks," says McDonald. "They just do it because they're passionate about their business."

Last year's award winners include:

Shea Fust Fitness (Outstanding Business of the Year)

Portage Rotary Club (Outstanding Not-for-Profit)

Caitlin Giercke--Pharmasave (Outstanding New Entrepreneur)

Southport (Outstanding Contribution to the Community by a Business)
