The NDP government is being critiqued on how well they delivered on a promise made seven years ago -- and it's not good.

Turtle Mountain MLA Cliff Cullen believes the health care system is deteriorating and affecting rural areas, despite a 15 million dollar commitment made by the NDP to end hallway medicine.

He links the problem to growing bureaucracy within the system, saying the investment dollars need to go to the front line staff.

Considering the size of the investment, Cullen isn't impressed with the progress that's been made to improve health care.  More and more he's seeing ER closures, staff shortages, and patients having to travel further for medical attention.

He thinks the lack of improvements will show during the next election.
