Those who drive with MPI can expect another round of rebate cheques to be making their way to their homes.

Media Relations Coordinator Brian Smiley says customers can expect their rebate around mid-February of 2022. He explains that this is the third cheque in recent times to be coming to the public.

“This is the third rebate in less than two years,” notes Smiley. “on average the check should be about $328 to the average private passenger policy.”

He explains the cheques are being issued due to the COVID pandemic still being at the forefront of many Manitobans’ minds, as well as MPI seeing strong financial results. He notes the cheque was based off the basic Autopac premiums paid between November 22, 2020 and December 9th, 2021.

“If any of them are planning to do an address change,” says Smiley. “They need to notify Manitoba public Insurance no later than January 12th if they want to receive the rebate check.”

MPI will be issuing an estimated 578,000 cheques to their customers.
