Portage's Operation Christmas Child has raised the bar for their campaign.  Coordinator Sheila Knox says they've accomplished their goal of filling 25 hundred gift boxes for children in third world countries.

That's up from 18 hundred last year.

Knox explains the boxes are in the process of being sent to Mexico and Central and South America.  The boxes are headed to Calgary where they'll first be sorted.

The donations came from as far west as Austin and as far north as Amaranth.  Although she's pleased with the result, Knox thinks they could've reached 26 hundred if their counts were more accurate.

All will be delivered by February or March.
