Municipal leaders were encouraged yesterday to help make Manitoba a model province in Canada.

Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Steve Ashton addressed delegates at the Association of Manitoba Municipalities annual convention.

He says delegates need to play a key role in creating a vision for Canada.
The first part of the vision should include the fact Manitoba be known as the Canadian province.
Ashton says Manitoba is a great example of a province that works well together with many different people from many different backgrounds.

He encouraged delegates to always consider the best interest of the country when making decisions.
