Vandals have been active in recent weeks in Portage, and it's upset Mayor Ian MacKenzie.
They've struck Splash Island a couple of times, and he's concerned with the amount of damage being done to City property. He says the cost for repairs is shouldered by all taxpayers, and that's why the City's posted a $500.00 reward for evidence leading to a conviction.
MacKenzie calls all the vandalism senseless, and urges people who are victimized to call the RCMP immediately. He points out many incidents aren't reported for some time.
