Both Manitoba teams have played their first couple of round robin games at the Brier in London, Ontario and both have their first wins under their belts.

Team Manitoba, Matt Dunstone defeated Kelly Knapp of Saskatchewan 9-3 to open the event on Saturday and then followed that up with a 14-2 win Sunday morning over Jake Higgs of Nunavut. Dunstone, now 2-0,  will next curl at 1 p.m. today against winless Jamie Koe of the Northwest Territories.

Reid Carruthers is a wildcard team and he lost his opener 6-4 to Tanner Horgan of Northern Ontario. Carruthers followed that up with an 11-7 win over Northwest Territories and a 7-6 victory over Nathan Young of Newfoundland & Labrador Sunday. Now, at 2-1, they will face Alberta's Kevin Koe in the morning draw today.

Teams need to finish in the top three of their nine-team pools to advance to the playoffs. Carruthers and Dunstone are in the same pool.
