A man from Portage la Prairie has been arrested after being unable to provide a valid breath sample.

Portage la Prairie RCMP says on May 15, around 12:30 a.m., they received a report of a vehicle driving erratically. When an officer pulled the 43-year-old man over, they asked him to provide a breath sample.

The man attempted but wasn't able to provide one, so he was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Failure to Comply with Breath Demand.

The driver had his vehicle towed and impounded for 60 days as well as his license suspended for 30 days. The RCMP says he will also have to appear in court at a later date.
