The Portage la Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce has announced that the upcoming Made in Manitoba Expo, scheduled to take place this weekend in Portage la Prairie, has been postponed.

The event, which was initially scheduled to take place in February, but was rescheduled to October due to COVID, is now facing a similar situation, this time due to unsure attendance from vendors.

Executive Director for the Chamber, Cindy Mcdonald, says that this is an unfortunate set of circumstances.

"October we found out, is a very busy month for lots of our small entrepreneurs with home-based, made-in-Manitoba products," Continues Mcdonald. "So, we've had to postpone it, and we are hoping to postpone that to the beginning of February again this year, just because that apparently is a better time."

Mcdonald explains that at this time, she is unsure of the exact details, but the Chamber does hope to have a new date set for February 2023.

"We are very, very sorry. I know everyone really looks forward to this event, and it's been two years since we've had one. Please stay tuned for details on our Expo in 2023."
