Just after 12 noon Saturday, the Fire Department in MacGregor received a call and quickly dispatched their units to a structure fire in Bagot.

When crews arrived, they discovered a vehicle engulfed in flames just outside of a garage. Initial reports indicated that the vehicle fire started in the garage but thanks to quick-thinking neighbors, the car was safely removed.

Fire crews extinguished the fire and then assessed the building for fire safety precautions. Firefighters on the scene commented the actions of the neighbours not only saved the garage but also helped prevent the spread of the fire to the residential house.

The department thanked all that helped out from the Bagot community and added it was very much appreciated.
