Soon people will be thinking about leaving their cars running to warm up, and that's a time when more stolen vehicles are reported. However, Central Plains RCMP say they've seen a rash of those crimes already.

Between the week of September 12th and 18th, the RCMP reported nine calls of service for stolen vehicles. They say they are receiving reports that people have left their keys and other valuables inside of their vehicle. They want to take this time to remind everyone that it only takes several seconds for someone walking by to enter your vehicle and remove your valuables.

One incident took place in the RM of Portage on the 16th which involved a police chase. You can read more on that story here.
