The Portage-Lisgar MP is unphased by the fact the Liberals are no longer leaderless.

Brian Pallister says Stephane Dion has to come up with a few reasons for Canadians to buy into their party.

He's also shrugging off a Strategic Counsel poll which suggests the Liberals can defeat the Conservatives if an election were held today.  He says 'polls are for fences' and believes support was only spurred by publicity surrounding the Liberal convention.

Pallister's more concerned of Dion's disability to attack the governments platform on global warming, stressing emissions rose by 30 per cent while Dion held the environment minister post for the Liberals.

However, Pallister does admit congratulations are in order for the newly elected leader.
