The Portage Community Revitalization Corporation has a new Community Engagement Coordinator.

Lorna Knight officially stepped into the position on July 4th.

"Well, I just recently moved back to Portage. I have lived here previously, and moved away, and now I'm back," says Knight. "When I saw the job opportunity, it was right in line with the things that I believe in -- being part of the community is a huge belief that I have, and so, it just seems like a logical next step."

She moved to Newfoundland with her husband who is in the military, and after some time away, they are back in the Central Plains. She adds they expect to be back for a long time.

Knight notes she is eager to really get going, saying there are so many positives when it comes to being in Portage and with the PCRC.

"There are so many programs and services and opportunities to work with the community," says Knight. "I'm really looking forward to being immersed in the community and getting to really know the different organizations so we can work together to create amazing events that the entire community can be part of."
