Kathy Loeppky (nee Dyck)

July 27, 1943 – May 9, 2022

Kathy was pre-deceased by her husband Harold Loeppky in 2012.

Many of Kathy’s siblings & their spouses have gone before and were waiting to welcome her home. She leaves to mourn her passing daughter Gloria (Al) & son Marvin (Jocelynn), Granddaughter Misty (Steven) great granddaughter Adrianne. Brothers Herman (Frances), William, Sister in-law Lydia Dyck, Brother-in-law John Wiebe, Harold’s siblings Erma (Dave), John (June), Dorothy, Ed (Marg) as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. Kathy was born to John & Agatha Dyck in Rosthern, SK in 1943. She was the second youngest in a family of 10.

She was a hard worker and held many jobs over her lifetime, but the most important was her career as a farm wife & mother. There is never a shortage of work on a farm, and she labored along side Harold from sunup to sundown. There were cattle to be fed & watered, calving season saw her getting up many times a night to make sure that everything was going smoothly in the barn. There was milking to be done. In spring a huge vegetable garden was planted and all summer long there was weeding to do. Kathy loved her flowers and it seemed like every year or two more flower beds were being dug on the farmyard. It was a real treat to spend time touring the yard when all the flowers were in bloom.

Harold & Kathy loved going on short trips. They always enjoyed their getaways to Alberta – Kananaskis was a favorite in later years. They also enjoyed travelling to North Dakota on shopping trips They brought back many bargains and souvenirs from Wall Drug & the Black Hills. When Harold passed away suddenly in 2012 things really changed for Kathy. She had to move off her beloved farm, and then her health started to fail in 2016.

She is at peace now, for which we are very thankful. The family would like to thank Dr. Mike Omnichinski and the staff at the MacGregor PCH for the loving and attentive care to Kathy in the months she was a resident there. God Bless You!
