Disability Case Coordinator Jennifer Hyra of Portage la Prairie was one of the recipients of a Quality Service Award for Southern Health Santé Sud.

The awards honour all full-time, part-time, and casual employees of Southern Health-Santé Sud, excluding external agencies and affiliate health corporations. It's in recognition of the achievements and contributions of employees that extend their efforts beyond the day-to-day performance of duties. Those who share their gifts of compassion, patience, kindness and professionalism with clients and colleagues are much appreciated in the RHA.

"The awards are presented to recipients from regions, sites, programs and services," said the RHA spokesperson at the ceremony. "This year, there were seven award winners and one team award winner. Nominations were made by their peers."

Jennifer Hyra began with Southern Health-Santé Sud in March, 2022.

"Those who have had the pleasure of working with her will agree she is a trusted source of information and support, someone who is willing to help, and can be counted on to have a smile on her face," says the RHA representative. "Jennifer has demonstrated her commitment to compassion and respect in her work as a Disability Case Coordinator, building relationships with management and staff throughout the region. Her insights and experience have been instrumental to the launch of our Workplace Safety and Health program and she has often been relied on to assist in other areas of the Department like Labour Relations and Recruitment."

It was added that  Hyra's positive attitude and approach to teamwork is contagious, and makes those around her feel welcome, valued, and inspired.
