It was a successful year in 2006 for the Interlake Regional Health Authority.
That's the assessment of CEO Kevin Beresford. He points to a couple of events as the year's major highlights, with filling all physician vacancies as the first. Progress in health promotion and disease prevention is his second highlight.
Beresford's also pleased a summer walk-in clinic was opened in Selkirk. He adds a youth survey on physical activity, eating and smoking habits received 84 per cent response.
Beresford notes they'd hoped to make more progress in speech language therapy for kids.
