This summer sees three infrastructure projects happening in Portage.

The City's partnering with the federal and provincial governments on two, with the RM of Portage joining on upgrades for the 227 landfill site.

Mayor Ian MacKenzie is especially happy a new lift station is being built near the new Wal-Mart site. He adds that upgrade was slated to go, regardless of that development. It'll serve more people, as well as being a safer facility.

The PR 227 landfill site is being upgraded as well, and all four governments are involved. MacKenzie says it'll run more efficiently, and doesn't anticipate tipping fee increases.

The third project is the Crescent Lake pathway, which has been planned for a number of years.
