The Portage la Prairie Community Revitalization Corporation's (PCRC) Green Team is once again out patrolling the city looking to make a difference.

The initiative is funded by the province and the city to help clean up any unwanted vandalism and garbage.

Adam Tompkins, a three-year veteran of the program, shares that it feels tremendous to help the community look nice.

He talks about how the process works for cleaning up any unwanted graffiti and trash around town.

"We ride our bikes and look around for graffiti, and If we find any, we drop off a flyer in the mailbox of either business or homeowner," says Adam. "Then, once they get back to us over e-mail, we send them a consent form, confirming that they give consent to paint over the graffiti on their property. Then we get the paint, bike over there, and paint over it. If we aren't painting, we are either helping out with other stuff that the PCRC is doing, or we clean up garbage around town."

Tompkins notes that if you see any vandalism in Portage on any property, not just your own, you can contact the group at graffiti@portagecrc.com or call them at 204-240-7272.
