The Portage Community Revitalization Corporation's graffiti removal team, also known as the Green Team, is back in action this summer.

PCRC Executive Director Victoria Espey says the team has been tackling tags in our community for the past few weeks.

"They've already covered up quite a few tags across the city, so if people in the community spot graffiti or have been a victim of graffiti, please call our office," says Espey, noting this is a free service that the PCRC offers to the community. She adds while the Green Team does try to match colours, people do need to be aware that it won't always be an exact match.

Summer students Kailey Klippenstein and Adam Tompkins are this year's Green Team and Espey notes the PCRC is looking to hire two more students for the following positions.

"One will be our Community Engagement Assistant, so helping out with some of the things we do internally at the office," says Espey. She outlines the second position. "This year, something new that PCRC has partnered with the Portage Rotary Club. They're working really hard on revitalizing the duck pond at the island. So we applied for a grant for additional summer students to help them with that project and we are looking for one more student to help out with the Rotary Club and their duck pond project."
