There was a major funding announcement for the town of Neepawa today.

Three levels of government plan to spend 8.1 million dollars upgrading the town’s waste water treatment plant.

Mayor Bob Durston says the plant on the town’s east side will be upgraded in 2007. It will use parts of the existing system, bringing the latest technology to handle industrial waste water. He expects the plant will be able to to perform for many more years as a result.

Durston says the upgrade will allow the town to better handle waste water from Springhill Farms hog plant.
