Gladys Elizabeth Lavallee

 

Peacefully, on February 6th, 2023, Gladys Elizabeth Lavallee beloved wife of the late Jack Lavallee, passed away at the age of 89 years.

Gladys was born October 6, 1933, daughter of the late Charlotte and Olaf Olson.

Gladys is predeceased by her husband Jack Lavallee, infant daughter Mary, brothers; Otto, Norbert and Obert, sister Eva and great-grandchild Hannah Rose Reimer. 

Gladys leaves to mourn her passing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Son Garry (Lorelei Moore) Fedorchuk, grandchildren; Lee (Jennine Kebernik) Fedorchuk, Rhea (Dan Klakowich) Fedorchuk, great-grandchildren Penny and Willow, Avery (Kelly) Grey, great-grandchildren Mila and Hallee, daughter Gail Fedorchuk, grandchildren; Shawna (Derek) McGarry, great-grandchildren Paige and Deegan, Lana (Dan) Reimer, great-grandchildren Emma and Jacob, daughter Janet (Danny) Cuthbert, grandchildren; Jade Cuthbert, Eric (Charlotte Woods) Cuthbert, great-grandchild Willow, Blayne Cuthbert, daughter Cindy (Ken Hancock) Fedorchuk, son Wayne (Laura Denslow) Fedorchuk, grandchildren Nicholas and Haylee. 

Gladys is also survived by her sisters Joanne, Rose and Doris and sister-in-law Jean Holmes.  A special place in her heart was held for Joyce Holmes and Victoria Fries, along with many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gladys worked many years at Portage & District General Hospital.  She always kept busy whether talking on the phone, walking down-town or enjoying reading the Free Press.  She also loved to knit, sew and canning.  Family dinners were a joy with so much good food.  But her and Jack’s pride was their garden, never a weed to be found.  Their trip to Nashville was a highlight in their lives. 

To honour Gladys, a service will be held this summer with notice of details available closer to the date.
