Post-secondary students from Sandy Bay First Nation will no longer be without their education cheques.

They're being distributed today after I-NAC learned collection was delayed.

Former chief Irvin McIvor grew in concern yesterday over the financial situation, under the assumption financial institutions froze the cheques after his election was overturned earlier this month.

But when the election of a first nation is overturned spokesman Jeff Eyamie explains their finances are moved into another bank account -- this time Sandy Bay's overdraft resulted in a shortage and affected the students.

Meantime the Southern Chiefs Organization continue their push to let former chief McIvor stand, but Eyamie says the government of Canada doesn't recognize him as chief.
