The Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League playoffs are well underway, and the Central Plains Capitals play here at home tonight against the Yellowhead Chiefs. The Chiefs lead the best of 5 quarter-final 2-1. Halle Edwards is a forward for the Caps and explains going into the game tonight the teams excited since their last win in Shoal Lake. The Capitals haven't won a playoff game in three years.

"Yellowhead is a really good team," says Edwards. "They have a lot of offensive strength. It's just the defensive end we have to capitalize on because they are weaker in that area."

Edwards adds going into the game tonight the team will need to focus on keeping the energy up.

"When we are all excited and hyping each other up we play better as a team overall," explains Edwards.

Edwards notes she is hopeful the team will continue into the next round together. Puck drop is set for 7:45 p.m. at the BDO Centre in Portage la Prairie.
