A new fee for outfitters who deal with American hunters is predicted to negatively impact tourism in Manitoba.

The province will start to charge outfitters 100 dollars for every permit they sell to non-resident big-game hunters.

While Wade Duncan of Macdonald's Sporting Goods in Portage admits the amount isn't earth-shattering, he says it adds up -- especially since hunting packages are sold in advance.

Duncan is frustrated this charge is the newest addition to the ongoing list of fees and restrictions placed on the hunting industry.

The new rate was issued to cover the costs of wildlife management, but he's doubtful it'll fully be used for that purpose.
