Signs are posted indicating an upcoming closure of the east entrance into Portage la Prairie over the railway crossing.

"East of Portage we have planned road and track repairs starting on Monday, September 18th, around 9:00 a.m. and it will extend until Saturday, September 23," says Kelvin Chuvera, Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation director of regional operations.

He explains they're working with CNR to schedule work to repair the rough road at the crossing. Chuvera adds the safest route would be taking PR 240 instead, adding there are also other routes you can take.
