The Delta Marsh Field Station is celebrating 40 years of operation.  A celebration was held yesterday to mark the milestone.  Among the highlights from the celebration was the announcement that Delta Marsh will gain further protection as the province has designated the area as a wildlife management area.  Conservation Minister Stan Struthers attended the celebration and also announced the renewal of the lease with the University of Manitoba for 700 hectares of land for another 21 years.  Struthers says the province has confidence in the work the field station is doing and that was the primary reason behind the moves.
Field Station Director Gordon Goldsborough says the past 40 years have been excellent and he looks ahead to many more years of operation.
Goldsborough is encouraged with the support the province has shown.
