Yesterday was Family Fun Day at Dakota Tipi First Nation. Health Director Dennis Pashé explains the event.

Dennis Pashé, Dakota Tipi health director"Today we're having a family fun day. It's the health centre promoting fun days for children. And adults and elders will come together and participate in various activities we have. Mostly for kids. And also promoting health information. We had a relatively good turnout. It's a really nice day. It's a beautiful day for the event."

Dakota Tipi DOCFS Prevention Case Aid Geneva Smoke says their booth was featured at the fun day.

Geneva Smoke, Dakota Tipi DOCFS Prevention Case Aid"We're going face-painting today. We have door prizes, we've got bracelets, alarm clocks, we've got sports games, activities, and giving them water and freezies for visiting our booth. The kids get to know us in a friendly way. We're a friendly team. We're child welfare, but we're also child-friendly, and we really connect with the kids."

Linda Nadon, elderElder Linda Nadon enjoyed watching the activities.

"There were contests, we had lunch and then they started having these little fun contests for the kids. A few of the older people took part in certain things, and that was fun to watch. I didn't want to take part this year (laughs). A little too old to be jumping around. It's nice to see all the kids having fun."
