The number of new cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba continues to drop.

The province is reporting 537 laboratory-confirmed cases of the virus from May 15 to 21, which is down from 728 the previous week. The number of tests performed also dropped to 704 last week compared to 766 one week earlier.

Manitoba's test positivity rate is now 15.4 per cent, a decrease from 18.5 per cent in the previous week.

It appears that the number of severe outcomes is also on the decline in our province. Manitoba is reporting 112 hospital admissions last week including 21 ICU admissions and six deaths. There have now been 1,928 deaths related to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

According to the province, there were seven outbreaks in Manitoba last week, including three in long-term care facilities and four in hospitals.
